Hello Folks. So today I am writing to you about stress around photo locations. As some of you might know already what I cannot stress enough is how much more important lighting is over backdrop but in today's blog I am going to go a little bit beyond that. I shot the wedding portraits which I will include in this blog in Welland, Ontario at a variety of locations which cost zero dollars in permits, many were abandoned and some were just randomly open and available spots. I highly recommend to all brides and grooms looking for that more unique and or industrial feel to take a day or two and just cut the areas that one might not ever consider for wedding photos. Of course this is not the look for everyone but with the right photographer this unique feel and other unique ideas can really be pulled off. I made the use of a few little photographers tricks along the way for added neat affect. Some of the old factories were just areas that I had been seeing and caught my eye. We also went to old Hunters Pointe gold course. Sadly this has been closed up but that made for an extra textured and layers look for these photos. On the way out why not sneak out onto the rail road tracks ( people please use extra care and caution on tracks ) We also made use of a factory wall and a super unique abandoned drive to a factory that I have also used for portraits in the past.
So I guess my point here is if you like what you see here perhaps what you are looking for is right in front of you and searching for the perfect park or venue and expensive far off place isn't what you have to do. This won't work for all situations but that's also the beauty of weddings and what's makes each and every one all so unique. Get out and about in the areas around where you are planning your wedding and your might be surprised at what you find. I have also had clients sending me snaps from their cell phones of areas they are considering. It is so important to be able to work with your photographers on these kind of things and bounce your dreams of how you see your wedding day against their expertise and realities of what is doable. I am attaching a ton of samples from this super neat session that I'm just so thrilled to share with you all. Please enjoy and dream away.
